Salisbury Cathedral






So since we were in the town of Salisbury visiting the Wilton House, we also visited The Salisbury Cathedral. This cathedral has Britain's tallest spire at 404 ft., which we climbed nearly to the top of! My fear of heights made this experience quite a thrill! Architecturally it is designed almost entirely in the early English Gothic Style & was built in 38 years. It is also home to Europe's oldest working clock-which was really cool to see! It is incredible how much detail is put into these cathedrals-it's hard to believe that it's humanly possible to construct these, especially back in 1220 when construction was started! Climbing to the top was very interesting. It was neat to finally get to see how these cathedrals were actually made.
